Hi Guys,

I plan on applying early. I believe the first day is June 1st. However, I am planning on taking the DAT right before I apply (for a second time). Do you think there is much of a difference if I applied exactly on June 1st or two weeks after it in regards to my chances of getting in?

I believe the first day is middle of May.
You should submit your AADSAS before you take your DATs. You don't need to have taken a DAT to submit your application.

Yes, I'm aware of that, however, I've been told they don't consider your application until everything is there. In other words, they'll keep it on file, but they won't look at it until you get your score in.

Yes there is a difference. The application is open on may 15th. I had submitted mine on may 20th and I had a friend do it on June 1st. My application got send out before his and goto the schools before his by about 4 weeks. AADSAS works in cycles and pumps out a few in each cycle. They are trying to get better about it and make the whole thing quicker.

But they will still have your application. If you wait to take your DAT and then submit AADSAS after that then you'll be lower on the pile since the schools won't have a file for you yet.

Just send AADSAS as soon as possible even if you didn't take your DAT yet. The sooner they verify your GPA and get all letters of rec, the better. All of this takes a very long time (probably a month to get everything in order.) If you send out your app May 15th, estimate that the schools will receive everything by June 15th the earliest.

Actually, the DAT won't stop your application from processing through AADSAS. However, the schools don't consider your file complete until they receive your official scores. I'd go ahead and submit AADSAS app and then take the DAT. If you take your DAT within a couple of weeks of submitting your app, your AADSAS app will be processed and sent to the schools close to the same time your DAT scores are available from the ADA. If you wait to send AADSAS, you risk being caught in the later cycle where it takes 4 to 6 weeks for processing rather than the 2 to 4 weeks that is typical early in the cycle.

I think first day to apply is May 15th. Even if you were to apply in say, mid June, I don't think it's gonna have much adverse effects on your chances.
