guys im finishing my pre-dent requirements this spring. then taking DATs over summer and applying early fall. when should i expect to hear back? im thinking of taking a class during fall just so i can stay busy while i wait for results to come out but if i do well in this class will it be counted towards my gpa still? i think im on then borderline in terms of gpa

You can apply without DAT scores and update your application as early as the day you receive the unofficial dat score sheet. Just fax the score sheet to each separate school.

Early Fall as in what? September? That I'd second batch, you are putting yourself at an disadvantage. Have your application SUBMITTED AND RECEIVED by dental schools before August.

We can't tell you when you will expect to hear back when you didn't even take your DAT and list your gpa breakdown/extracurriculars.

Do the application the day it opens up, have your LORs in and everything prepared. Indicate on the application when you plan to take the DAT and then your scores will be uploaded 2-3 weeks after that. You can fax the unofficial score report to schools that accept it. Take the DAT NO LATER than the last week of July. I took mine July 28th and was fine in terms of getting interviews and December 1st acceptances. Honestly, I would probably shoot for early-mid July if you can so that you will be able to snag an earlier interview possibly. My interviews were all mid-late November so I just made the cut in terms of pre-Dec interviews so take the DAT sooner than later.
