When do we exactly apply for financial aid? I have deposits at 2 schools, and I am still waiting on my first choice to get back to me. The schools that I have put a deposit at sent me forms about financial aid already. Do I fill these out and hand them in anyways?

It depends on the state the school is in. Maryland, for example, was March 1st for 'priority' filing (whatever that means). I think you can technically file later, but better sooner rather than later.

Do the FAFSA now and include the codes for all possible schools you COULD attend. At least at the schools I interviewed with, they told us this at our interview. You may have a handout with the school's code for each school. If not, you can find it online. And yes, you fill out the forms if you want to keep holding your spot. But if both of these are alternative choices, and you're still waiting on another, you should try to give up one of those spots asap. I wouldn't want to make both schools go through the trouble of processing your forms when you already know you won't go to at least one for sure.

the reason why i'm holding out is because one of the schools offer a scholarship based on need which would require my fafsa. Thanks everyone!
