Hi everyone,

I want to apply IDP in 2016 and hope to get some precious advices from you guys.

here is my stats:
-graduated in 2009, 3 yr internship/residency done in foreign country
- a couple years of US research experience but NOT in dental field
-NBDE 1&2 passed
-GPA 3.2
-only a couple month of shadow+volunteer in US

I also have a few questions:
1- regarding the US dental experience, does several months shadow/volunteer enough? or should I look for other ways, like internship/dental assistant, which are really time/money consuming.
2-how can I improve my package and chance to get into the programs.
3-is there any buddy with similar stats, suppose we can discuss the application process/writing PS/CV etc, please feel free to send msg.

I really appreciate all your advice! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I am thinking of, if any chance, to work as DA to accumulate some experience, is it a good approach? and I wonder which states allow foreign dentists to get DA jobs/license w/o going thru 2-year DA program? Thanks

You do have good profile. You don't have to go to DA school. You are eligible to take dental assistant exam and get license for dental assistant. Go to DANB.ORG and apply to take exam. After you pass, you will be certified dental assistant and that will help you to get job as dental assistant.
