Is applying in August too late? I'm taking 10 credits of physics and it will help my science gpa a lot. The classes end the first week of August.

I submitted in September and still got accepted. It really depends on your overall application with GPA and DAT and how competitive you feel. You should calculate your GPA with and without, it might not change as much as you think it will.
