How disadvantaged are you if you apply late in the cycle? I was planning to apply next month. I am a borderline applicant like most people sitting on a ~3.2 overall and ~3.0 sci gpa with a 22 AA/24 PAT DAT score. My ECs are good with alot of shadowing and volunteering hours, research experience, and club involvement.

Thanks in advance for the responses

i dont think most ppl are "borderline" applicants with 3.0science gpas. i think thats below the average.
your DAT is great. why are u waiting until next month btw? why not like....tomorrow?
i mean....if its not absolutley vital to u to start ds this coming fall 2013, then i would wait to apply in june of 2013, and take more sciences this year to raise ur science and bcp.
if u would like to see if u can get in this cycle.....then no one is going to stop u. basically, if u have money to potentially blow at this point, then apply. altho ur dat is good and MAY carry u thru the cycle with a potential acceptance, ur sci gpa is not going to warrant a massive influx of interviews.

Yeah, I see what ur saying, I just thought/hoped the DAT score would bring me up to the "borderline" applicant range. As for why I'm waiting a month, I need time to get LORs written by my professors and polish off my personal statement.

People who apply this late in the cycle are pretty severely disadvantaged though? I am going to be a 4th year in fall and it isn't going to be a big deal if I wait until next cycle.

if u arent going to apply until october.........ur app probably wont be processed until like....a week or two after that.....and alot of schools have deadlines of dec 1st. ehhhh. i think if its not a big deal to u to wait another year, id say apply EARLY next cycle. really early. 1st week of applications opening, and take as many sciences as u can this year to boost ur gpas before applying.
thatd be ur best bet, in my opinion.

If you will just work hard and finish a decent personal statement you could apply today. Your LOR(E)'s can be sent after you have payed and submitted your application. You may know that but it's important if you don't......I didn't for a while.
