Hello I found similar threads, however I have a friend that was told by an admission director, that schools have access to the number of schools that you are applying to. I am personally applying to 21 schools, and I dont have any problem with admitting it to interviewers, given that I am going all in this year. I am ready to be in dental school.

Still , I know of people that are applying to very few schools, because of the fear of not being given interviews or acceptances. These people claim that if they apply to many schools, they will come up as unsure of what school they want to attend.

Thank you

If ADCOMS do have a list and number of schools that individuals applied to, and how this might affect decisions for both interviews and acceptances

Apply to as many as you want, if it comes up in an interview just say you realize how competitive it is to get into d school and you want to do whatever you can to improve your chances. I know people who applied to many more schools than 21 and got multiple interviews and acceptances.

They can also ask during your secondary app

You can always answer by saying: " well, there is no guarantee that I will get accepted with increasing competitive pool of applicants, until I receive the letter".
jk. don't say that.

I'm pretty sure schools can only see your status at other schools after sometime in April, in order to see if you have multiple second deposits.

I was told that schools can only see after April 1. They can't see beforehand

Some schools ask on their secondaries. I'd be truthful.

I applied to only a few schools, but not because I thought applying to more would hurt me! If you're asked about this in an interview, just smile and say that since you know an acceptance isn't guaranteed, you were willing to put in a bit of extra effort to increase your chances for achieving your goal.
