applying to med school while doing postbac (esp. BU) - question!

im gonna be in the BU MAMS program this year and i also am applying to med school now (dont wanna take a year off). i need some advice - should i send a letter to the med schools telling them to hold my apps till i send them my first semester grades? i need to boost my sci gpa and im counting on first term to help me with that so i dont want schools to look at my current app and toss it cuz of my sci gpa but i dont want to wait too long cuz after first term, time is already of an essence.
