I am a US senior applied to 50 programs and so far only received 7 interview invites.
Those were all from late September and early October and haven't heard from any programs for 2 weeks now. (one rejection email so far)
Step 1 235
Step 2CK waiting for score
Step 2CS passed

Is it still too early to worry about not getting anymore interviews? or should I start thinking about applying to more programs? or is 7 interviews so far good enough?

Thanks

Check if your mspe was uploaded correctly on adts.

You should have way more interviews than 7 as an amg

My MSPE are all uploaded and downloaded correctly.
I am thinking maybe programs are waiting for my step 2CK score b/c I only received 1 rejection letter.
My application might be in the "maybe" pile until they receive my step 2 score.

I am almost a mirror applicant to you. Similar score, haven't taken ck yet, go to non-top-40 med school and I have been pleasantly surprised in getting interviews at 25 out of the 47 places I applied so far.

I would ask your school for a copy of your mspe with appendices and read it thoroughly. My Something written on that document is dragging you down.

While my step 1 is > yours by a bunch... yours is awesome for anesthesia. I have yet to take CK. I've gotten a lot of invites. I also think you should speak to your dean's office. Best of luck!

Well atleast your screen name is accurate :/

I was trying to be helpful and transparent. Truth is our apps are not 100% comparable so I pointed that out as best I thought I could. But I do think that, as I said above, my step 1 vs OP's probably wouldn't make much of a difference at most places.

I could've said nothing, but it seemed like the OP wanted points of reference. I offered my own situation in hopes of the OP getting closer to solving any potential problem and being on their way towards a great residency training program. Anyways-- sorry to anyone if my transparency was too sassy to handle.

OP -- hope my post was helpful as that's all it was meant to be.

I guess only thing that could hold me down on my application is class rank. (bottom 50%)
I made all B's throughout my med school with GPA of 3.0 and all B's on my clerkship grades.
But still, >60% of my classmates made B on their rotations and ~5% made C or below. I clearly did not think this would be an issue. I thought I would be fine with decent board score and LORs.
Do you all think it is still worth a shot to apply to more programs at this point?

Im a DO in the bottom half of my class with a step 1 similar to yours, and a great step 2. I have 15 interviews. I agree with other posters and think its a bit weird that you dont have more. I would make sure there isnt some sort of error or red flag in your mpse somewhere. Maybe one of your letters wasnt as solid as you thought? Not really sure, but there should still be about 2-3 weeks of invites left, so I think youre still going to get at least a few more.

Class rank may be hurting you somewhat, depending upon which programs you are applying to and which medical school you are from. What you need to understand about LOR is everyone should be able to get good LOR. So frankly, we don't put that much weight on good/great letters, it's more of a negative factor if letters as a whole are lukewarm or completely generic. We are also seeing some crazy high board scores. 235 is a good score, but doesn't separate you from the pack, other things being equal.
