Applying to PMR without LOR

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No, not possible. You won't get any interviews.

This really doesn't make sense. You're in Florida, but can't find a PM&R physician to rotate with? I would just find one close to you and do what everyone else does - work extra hours, go in on nights / weekends, get off rotations early and head to the PM&R office.

There are plenty of ways to get a letter, and you have plenty of time to do it.

I agree with the others. I think even a US MD graduate wouldn't get any interviews without a PM&R letter, though I can't say for sure (I don't know anyone that does a PM&R rotation and isn't able to ask for it, but I've definitely never heard of any applicants getting into PM&R without a rotation).

Like the above poster says, you need to put in extra work and do whatever it takes to get a letter of recommendation if PM&R is what you want to do. And if you haven't done one already you need to do a PM&R rotation as well. I think submitting an ERAS application without both is almost certainly going to be a no-go.

Why did you edit your post? Makes you look a little trollish.

Yes...you can get a rotation in Florida...I did. I suggest using something called the Internet to type "physiatrist" and your desired rotation. You'll probably find 20+ docs to call in every major city. Put in the work. There are three PM&R residencies in the state (USF, Jackson, and Larkin (though I can't recommend matching to this program)). Why can't you try to audition while getting an LOR? And why are you confined to the state of Florida...was it apart of your plee-deal?

Yes, IMGs can match to PM&R. It's not easy...but by applying broadly with good stats...yes.
