I have already received an interview for the preliminary medicine track of an IM program, but now want to also select the box on the ERAS application to also be considered for a categorical IM position. I want to now send a different personal statement for the categorical track position, but not sure how to go about this since I have already sent the program my personal statement for the preliminary track? thanks in advance

The best way to do this is to contact the program directly, either by calling or via email.

Simply applying to another track now that you're already scheduled for an interview might not be noticed.

Some programs interview prelims and cats on different days, so your interview might need to be rescheduled. And there's no guarantee that they will give you a cat interview.

once you've spoken to them and they've agreed to interview you, you can send them the new PS.
