Hi,

So a little explanation of my life right now. I graduate with my Bachelors in Biology now in the summer. I work full-time at a dental office as a dental assistant. I have been an assistant throughout my whole undergrad (4+ yrs). I plan to take my DAT august 30, which I have heard that is late.

I guess my question is after taking my DAT is it good to apply this cycle and try for schools like Temple or those who accept students later in the year? or take my DAT, hopefully score high or see what my score is and then apply next year?

Just a little lost you know? Any advice would help tons!

I would apply next year as soon as the application opens in early June. You’ll have all your ducks in a row by then and be ready to apply. I know it sucks waiting another year but it’ll give you more time to make money and hang out before dental school. Good luck

If you score high then I would apply this cycle. At a post-december interview I attended, one of the guys there applied 1 day before the TMDSAS with 22+ DAT and I believe he had a strong app overall. Worst case you apply next yr early with a strong DAT and get in on Dec 1st. Do not rush your DAT to apply this cycle. Crush your DAT on your first attempt! Best of luck!

Depending on the rest of your application, if it's strong and you do well on your Dat defs apply! I did my DAT on August 31 and applied way after. You just have to see which schools your apply to and their tution and location etc. And see if you'd actually go there if you got in.
