Hi guys ,

I took the old MCAT earlier this year and got a bad score .So I will be applying to mid and low tier American M.D schools this cycle , but my testdate is in June. I have read this elsewhere that you can submit your application to a school that is a long shot with the oldscore and get verified. Then when you get the newscore back in midjuly apply to schools that you have a fair shot at.1) Would this be the best way to go at it ?

2) or should apply to all the schools before I get my new testscore ?

Much appreciated

Option one is in your better interests. Apply to just one school. If you list your future MCAT date on the application, then the school you pick need not be a throw-away school, since they will (probably) hold off evaluating your file until the new score is available. If your second score is not sufficiently competitive, then you will save the dollars you might have spent on another 10+ schools and put your resources into applying, perhaps, to DO med schools instead.

If the second score is good, and you are already verified, when you add additional appropriate schools (and pay the fees) they will get your entire file within 1 business day.
