Last year I was on the waitlist for several schools, and I waited it out, only to be let down by schools this year telling me that I did not apply soon enough to have a fair chance.

I am on 4 wait lists this year, should I reapply (spend the money, take the time to ask for LOR and observation confirmations, essays...etc) as soon as the next application come out?

If PT is your passion, ABSOLUTELY! Nothing should stop you from reaching your goals in life (including any waitlist/rejection letters you receive)! Just keep trying and have Faith!

As opposed to what? Taking a year off and doing things to strengthen your application?? If the time of application was the only problem, well then yeah you'll need to apply early. Have everything ready by July 1st and fire them out.

Nicole, I have a question to ask you...mind if I PM you?

When did you submit your application (and all other required documents) for this current year's application cycle?

As long as you met the deadline, then what does it matter?

I also don't understand your situation. Were you waitlisted for the 2011/2012 cycle, and for the 2012/2013 cycle? When did you apply for the '12/'13 cycle?

Kevin

I'm curious myself when you applied. I suppose it would make a difference if the program had rolling admissions, but it seems that most don't.

Sorry, I think I need to clarify:

I applied in August 2011, and was on the waitlist for 2 schools. I waited until their classes started in September in hopes of being called off those wait lists before I put in the effort for a 2nd round of applications in September 2012. Because I waited (2 months after the PTCAS app came out in July), the schools that had rolling admissions said this year (2013) since I applied too late, their classes were already full-so they wait listed me (otherwise I would have been accepted)

Would it be wise to submit the PTCAS application early in August for schools rolling application, even if I'm still waiting on 4 wait lists?

They said September was too late for a rolling admissions school? That sounds odd to me, but maybe I am just misunderstanding. Anyways, why bank on a waitlist school and not start applying again? Never put all your eggs in one basket. Of course you should put out applications this cycle. If you get off the waitlist, all you need to do is email the programs you applied to and ask them to not consider your application further. Or, if you don't make it off the waitlist, you have an application already sent out for the next cycle.

Yeah September is still considered early... So that is odd.

I would definitely apply again the summer
