Hey guys!
Thanks for the info you've been providing. Well, my situation is not really a standard one. I do have prerequisits on the American college transcript. These credits were given to me through the evaluation process from the medical school (post secondary model) in Europe over 20 years ago. By every definition these are old (and so am I 😛). I will be re-taking physics and gen chem 😱, but at least wanted to get "foot in the door" of AACOMAS. BTW I'm applying D.O only. I also hold R.N license (but a foreign nursing graduate....so thereis not much academic help there....only clinical exp). Also an American-earned M.S in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine with the license to practice.

I don't even know if AACOMAS would want me to re-take those, but my guess is yes, since I'd rather have it don here in U.S, and not deal with 20+ year old foreign transcripts.

So my question is should I wait before applying? Or get the ball rolling now, so at least I'll know what they would want me to add? Will I be at the disadvantge, b/c technically I do have the prereqs, they are just old? I really wanted toapply for 2008.

Thanks all in advance 🙂

It really will depend on the schools (vs AACOMAS). If you have the credits on a transcript, you can enter them in AACOMAS but the individual schools can set their standards on what they will accept like age limits (some have ten year expiration date), no pass fail, etc...

Safest bet is to check with the schools before including them in your application preferences.

Good luck. 👍

Actually, one of the D.O schools probably won't have a problem with my old credits, b/c I went to their different campus for the undergrad. When I called them for inquiry they were able to pull my academic stuff from the mainframe just by my student ID. I was under impression that AACOMAS sets the standard what flies and what doesn't.

Thanks again.
