Appropriate to state journal name if article is "pending submission"

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Let's say you're ready to submit an article to journal X.
On ERAS, is it ok to say "article name" (pending submission to journal X) or is it better to just say (pending submission)?

I dont think something that is "pending submission" belongs in the pubs tab at all. If its part of a research experience in the "experiences" tab, it'd probably be okay to finish the experience with "This work will be submitted to XYZ journal"

Agreed, pending submission means not submitted at all. ERAS publications only has statuses for submitted, accepted, conditional accepted, and print.

Alright. So under the research experiences, is it appropriate to say the journal name?

Sure if you want. Just know that at best, people are probably going to not think much of it and at worst it may be seen as padding. Since some people even question the merits of putting submitted but unpublished material on the ERAS app (due to the fact that it really requires no real effort to submit something), I imagine unsubmitted unpublished work would be seen as even more suspect. However, if you have a solid research experience that led up to the possible work I guess it may not be a bad thing.

It is not OK.
I will put it as your research experience or ongoing project.
