LOL...i think it would be kinda pain for me to comute to UIC from the bufu like towards Rockfords burds :laugh:

Yea, that would be painful....I wish I had gone to UIC instead of crappy NIU, it would have been the same time for the commute from Wheaton...O well maybe I'll get into their med school.

Speaking of which, is it an advantage or a disadvantage for your acceptance chances at UIC med school, or neither? Not like they can say you went to a bad school for undergrad! 😀

I know UIC likes UIC graduates but i am not applying to MD schools so will have to pass on it. Other then that i think they do not really care as long as ur stats are good and you possess good interview skils.
To give you an example i have a friend who just marticulated this year. He had 32 MCAT and 3.89 GPA, great LOR's, volunteering at peds unit and reserch at UIC.
But i know that ppl get in with much lower stats.

Why aren't you applying to MD? Partial to DO? I actually might be, but I'm applying to both

because i want to be different :laugh:
no...seriously now, i just am toally fascinated by DO philosophy and OMM, OMT etc. I can see myself being a DO and I do not want to bother with applying to schools i do not want to go to. I was acctually thingking about applying just to one school CCOM, but then someone said i was nuts so i will see about that. But this is exactly the school i want to go to. The one and only 😀

Cool, I can respect that. I might be seing you there fall '08. Quick question, I'm going to bed soon. Have you followed a DO around at all like they recommend in their book they give out, or not yet. If so, how did you get in touch?

i am going to see one next wednesday 😀 ....getting in touch with a student friendly DO is a very frustrating process. I suggest you start now by researching Hospital websites and insurance listings (like aethna.com or blue cross blue shields). Don't leave it for later because it took me couple of months before i got some possitive feedback.

on the margin here...i think you are on a post binge :laugh:
