APRT madness

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was expecting "Do you support the creation of an ASRT pathway?" or a similar actual vote of the membership.

Instead, I view this as tailored questions to gather support for their foregone conclusions and directions.

As an ASTRO member, this is a major reason why I have been skeptical of a number of ASTRO initiatives. Initiatives are pushed forward without much public discussion, and all messaging is tightly controlled in their meetings and forums.

What ever happened to transparency and openness in organizations?

I rescind this post and agree with ASTRO's statement on this.

Is this like a false flag operation? They had some member institutions create something stupid so they could fight it while losing other battles.
I guess there are some proposals that are too stupid even for ASTRO. Despite all of their faults, they at least have an exestential sense of self-preservation. I would keep this in mind before going overboard with the laurels for this decision.

Truly remarkable considering these are rad onc departments we are discussing
For my OTV's, is it too much to ask for my nurse to know the area I'm treating? I'm already answering every single question from copay to making sure the patient gets their 2:35 appointment time. Meanwhile, I haven't seen the office manager in 2 months.

At least we have "metrics" such as making sure my contours are completed 5 minutes after the sim is completed!

I will agree with you there. My guess is that the feedback was overwhelmingly negative despite their attempt to gather support.

yes it was overwhelmingly negative. As expected, many academics were for it, but the vehement opposition won.

If an advanced practice radiation therapist is able to adapt plans etc In place of a physician, there is absolutely no need for physical physician presence.
