hey, i just found out i got into the american ped. society-society for ped. research 2006 summer program. i was just wondering if anyone has done this before? is this a good thing to get or is it pretty easy/unoriginal? u get to do research at a med school other than ur own for the summer...as of now im gonna be working with a pediatric endocrinologist in LA. im positive i wanna go into cards, but i no longer think i want to go into pediatric cards. should i do the program anyway or should i try to find a lab on my own that deals with cards?

thanks

i did it last year. i mean, i loved it and had a great time. but only do it if you want to do it; i have no idea if it's 'easy/unoriginal' but if you can be set up with a lab that you like, then go for it! if not, then do something else. i'd worry less about how great things look on paper (esp. when it comes down to something like one good research position vs. another) and more about the kind of experience you are going to get.
of course i tend to think that way too 🙂 but it's not good! do what will give you the best training and that you'll enjoy.
