Hi everyone,
So I recently received an email from my school's prehealth listserv about this mentoring program. The description of the program :
"At APSA, we are excited to announce the start of a new initiative that will be beneficial to physician-scientist trainees in both the undergraduate and the professional school phases of training. The goal of this program is to connect APSA professional (MD or MD/PhD) students with undergraduates who are interested in careers as physician-scientists in one-on-one mentor-mentee relationships. These relationships will be mutually beneficial; our professional students will gain valuable experience in mentoring, and undergraduate students will have willing and enthusiastic mentors who can guide them and answer questions about all aspects of physician-scientist training. Ideally, the relationships will last one school year, though this is flexible. The mentors and mentees can choose to either meet in person or contact each other via phone, Skype, or e-mail. An undergraduate student will be paired with an APSA professional student student who is in a course of study in which the undergraduate has an interest. " (http://www.physicianscientists.org/?Mentoring)
Has anyone done this program and is this worth applying? Thanks!
