Does anyone know anything about Arcadia's DPT program? I was invited to an admissions information session but I cannot get off of work to go. If anyone can provide any info about the school or program, it would be much appreciated!

Hi emkay28--congratulations! When did they contact you about acceptance?

I actually did not get accepted, I received an email on Friday saying they are still considering my application but I can attend an information session to learn more about the school.

Oh thats strange. My initial thought: "If you want to do interviews do interviews." IMO it sounds like they want to meet you and talk with you kind of like an interview. Do you live in-state?

The email did not mention an interview so I'm not sure if my lack of attendance will affect my chances of getting in...I live in NYC, so I am close to Arcadia but not in-state.

I didn't receive any emails regarding my application or the information session, but I kept getting notifications about the school being closed due to serious weather conditions

I was told that it was recommended to attend the session, but if there was a scheduling conflict that it would not affect your chances. However, I don't know if that was just a regurgitated generic response, or if it was sincere. I also cannot attend the information session, and would have loved to if it was offered any other day.

I was snooping around on Facebook (desperate times, you know) and a group for the class of 2017 hasn't been created yet. I am taking this as good news for all of us still in limbo.

I also received the school closing emails which was very confusing because I never got accepted?! Good to know there is no Facebook group yet though!

Who else is still waiting?? I submitted my app back in August; what could possibly be taking so long?

I think they're just super slow. I have not heard a peep yet. I periodically get fliers from them in the mail regarding their other graduate programs, and I receive emails from them regarding the bad weather and the closure of the campus, but nothing about the admission decision yet.

Last year, however, I received through snail mail the notification of being waitlisted in late March. Hope that helps!

They have already sent out a wave of acceptances for sure. When I talked to them, they said the next wave should be coming in late Feb. So, we should hear back soon friends!

Did anyone else get an email asking if you are still interested in Arcadia?

I go there as an undergrad and got into their PT program for this Fall. From what my friends say who are currently in their first year at the DPT program, they love it. One friend described the faculty as being "all stars" of the PT world...they are constantly doing research and are pretty big in the field. They are really big on personal attention too. The only thing that I see as a drawback is that we don't have anatomy labs- the PT students use Drexel facilities during their first summer. But that's super minor! Otherwise it's a great program, ranked 14th in the country.

In regards to the area, it's very safe suburbs of outer Philadelphia- we're close to a lot of malls and 30 minutes from center city via car and train. The train station a mile down the road from our campus. If you have any other questions let me know, I'll try to help you answer your questions!

Hey! Thanks for the information. Do you know anything about the locations of the clinicals? I understand that since Arcadia is selective in their CI's, they tend to have clinicals in areas that require a car to get to from campus. My question is, do you have any idea where they are and what common locations you get to choose from? I know you may not know this information of the top of your head, but I figured maybe you could ask your buddies in Pt school. Thanks a lot!

I have been accepted to Arcadia and have to make a decision by Sunday! I'm leaning toward it but still waiting to hear from another school. Anyone know more about the program or advice?

I'm a current student @ Arcadia. You can PM me if you have any questions. I might not get back to you that same day since we are in the second week of our unit, but I will get back to you.

Received an email this week saying that my application is still being considered for acceptance. Still in the running!

I got into Arcadia and Columbia...does anyone have thoughts as to which is better?

I was recently accepted to Arcadia and plan on attending in the fall. I am from Michigan and do not know too much about the area. I was wondering if any current or past DPT students at AU could provide some information on living - where to live, what's commuting from the city like, parking on campus etc... And of course, any other information you want to share on the program and your experiences would be awesome too!!!!

Thank you so much! 🙂

Any other applicants committed to AU for the fall 2014???

I'm an Arcadia ungraduate that is, as of right now, enrolled in the program in the Fall! I can help answer some questions...the area around the university has a lot of living options. Most PT students live in the apartments which are in walkable distance to the Uni, but most people have cars. We are not in the city of Philadelphia at all- Glenside is in the suburbs. If you wanted to go to center city, it's more or less a 25-35 minute drive, or you can take the train directly there from Glenside (that's one the best things I love about the school is that we have a train stop!) In regards to parking, we are literally a rectangular campus so you can park anywhere and walk. It's comfortably small! The classrooms are all in one building next to our castle in the Health Sciences center. 🙂 Hope this helps!

Hi, I am in the same situation as you. I got into Columbia much earlier and was pretty sure I was going there until I got a call from Arcadia today. I am wondering if you have already made your decision. Which school did you choose in the end? And what were the main reasons of choosing one over the other?

Hi! I was wondering if you know are there many clinical sites in the new york area, eg. nyc. How do you feel about the anatomy classes being in 2nd year.

And how do you feel about the module system instead of midterm and finals? Where are most of the clinical sites at?

Are they still sending out acceptances? I received an email a few weeks ago that they would let me know this week; is there any point in even hoping I get in?

I received a call on 21 March that i got accepted. There must be several acceptances made out that day so I think they are waiting on those replies which could go either way. Stay hopeful!

The silence is deafening.

Though at this point, if you haven't heard back by now, the chances are pretty slim for any favorable news.

Got an email and letter in the mail today. Waitlisted. Better than rejection, I guess.

I was accepted from the waiting list last week! I was wondering if I could get in contact with those who also were accepted and have decided to attend. I will be coming in from California, so I'll be looking for potential roommates if possible 🙂
