Are Danskos as comfortable as advertised?

I am starting an an entry-level healthcare position pretty soon.

I am required to wear either all-black or all-white shoes.

My beloved all-white New Balance sneakers were lost in a move. They were getting really worn out anyway.

I am having trouble finding 100% black or 100% white sneakers.

The other women there all wear Danskos for similar reasons.

Are they actually comfortable?

I can't afford new ones and would buy used ones off Ebay or Facebook Marketplace. Do they follow U.S. sizes close enough for that to be a reasonable choice?

I was an RN and wore Danskos originally but i found them very uncomfortable in addition to being expensive. I'd look for all-black running shoes with good support and lightweight - I highly recommend Hokas. Invest in good footwear if you have a health care job where you'll be on your feet constantly, trust me!

I never felt they were comfortable. ECCO or Merrill are my preferred brands. Not sure about ECCO but I’ve recently seen Merrill running/gym shoes. Not sure how they are but maybe try a pair on.

Thank you both very much! I am a sneakers person in everyday life. I appreciate the brand suggestions to look at. I never noticed my current shoe brand (New Balance) currently only comes in multicolor until trying to shop for a solid color and didn't know of other good sneaker brands.

Get a pair of all white or all black UltraBoosts

get ultraboosts or Oofos ooClogs. The oofos are ****ing amazing and relatively super cheap

Gonna throw a spanner in the works and recommend crocs. I wore danskos (which were not new and already broken in) on my first day in the OR and four hours in, my feet were absolutely killing me. Under Armour sneakers were a little better, they lasted about 7 hours before my feet died a painful death. Crocs though? I can be on my feet all day and night in them. I know they're ugly, but for me they're worth it. Much cheaper than danskos too!

I wore Daskos for many years and loved them (anesthesia). Many OR/floor nurses who only wear scrubs buff up their outfit with colorful/interesting clogs, their only chance for a little flair. Love my Crocks out of the hospital, but one consideration is that either fabric or ventilation holes will let stuff in- think heme, amniotic fluid, joint arthoscopy irrigation fluid, betadine. The Oofos Oocloog looks like what many wear, no holes, easy to clean (says they can be thrown in the washer!). Black or Navy most common (again, doesn't show the sh** that will accumulate between washings).

Danskos did not work for me and caused horrible foot/arch and knee pain. I'd used Sanita clogs for a while and decided to switch things up. Big mistake.

Now I switch between my Sanita clogs and a nice pair of Asics with extra supportive insoles. No more problems.
