Are entering classes filled up?

I have an interview at ICO coming up this week and I was wondering if anyone knows how full the entering class already is. I was already accepted to SCCO a few weeks ago andwas told that their entering class, if not already full, is near capacity by now. Does anyone know how full the entering classes are for other schools, specifically ICO? I hope I'm not flying all the way to Chicago to interview for an already filled spot!

Also, Any recommendations for sightseeing or fun stuff to do in the Chicago area would be appreciated as well.

When I was a student in OD school, I had this friend who flew to ICO during february only for them to tell the interviewers that the class is already filled but they wanted to see which applicants would be good for the alternate list. I wouldn't be shocked if ICO didn't tell you if they were until you got there. SCCO would tell you though.

I don't know if schools have filled their classes yet. I would be doubtful, most I've interviewed with said they usually didn't fill it until March/April. Keep in mind that people may be holding seats at more than one school while they decide so seats may open up later. I'm sure the number available changes daily. Stay positive and go to each interview thinking that YOUR seat is still there! 🙂

Thanks, I think I'll call them today. I think its rediculous if they won't even give a ballpark figure. I'll keep you all posted! SCCO told me while I was at the interview. They had told me on January 13th that after their next Saturday session of interviews they wouldn't be surprised if they had a full class.

Yea, that is messed up. SCCO actually DIDN'T tell me that they filled all their seats a week earlier until right after I finished my interview. I wish they had told me a week earlier before I flew all the way there. 🙁

i called the advisor today for SCCO. she told me that only 1/3 of that class of 2011 seats have been confirmed. maybe enough acceptances have gone out to fill the remaining seats, but i would assume more acceptances will be going out.

btw, SCCO was my last interview (a week ago), I already got accepted to SUNY. I'm waitlisted for SCCO and also waiting for UCB's decision.

thats so weird! Because when I had my interview last month the advisor said about HALF of the class of 2011 had sent in their $500 deposit or $1000. hmm😕 Wouldn't sending in a deposit be confirming your seat? Well I dont know...I'm just waitlisted. :-/

When I interviewed at ICO in Jan, they mentioned that the class was already half full. Basically, do really well on ur interviews! I did get accepted though 🙂

Yes, but these 75 people are the ones that have already paid $250 to reserve their seats for fall 2007. If they do not pay the remaining $750 in April, they give up their seats.

My advice is to schedule the earliest date available for your interview(s) especially since seats will be limited and we're getting towards the end of the cycle. Try to call the school to see if you could schedule an earlier date. Plus you'll get it over with. That's the mentality that I had when I scheduled my interview.

SUNY is more than half full right now. ~80% full but it can change as people may decide to withdraw later. Admissions told me that they are raising the bar so it will be a little tougher to get in.
