Are hybrid courses still okay?

Hi,

I have the opportunity to take my biology series either as hybrid or traditional. To be clear, all labs are in-person. It is the lectures and what not that are hybrid (1 day a week in-person, the rest online).

I'd like to take the hybrid as it works best with my work/volunteer schedules, but I am concerned about how this will come off to med school admissions when I apply in 3ish years.

Thanks

You can get away with it, but it won't be as good. Virtual was an accommodation made by necessity when in person wasn't an option. Most schools will expect you to choose in person if available.

Three years from now, hopefully the pandemic will be a distant memory, and you won't have a lot of company as far as people applying with virtual or hybrid classes. Again, it won't be disqualifying, so do what you have to do, but, if you don't have to do it, it's not a great idea because it might hurt you at some schools. Biology is an important premed course. If you are serious about med school, most schools will expect you to schedule work/ECs around core academics, not the other way around.
