Hey SDN-
I was accepted last week to one of my state schools via email. In the email, they said they would be sending me a bunch of forms to sign and return via mail before their deadlines. I finally received the forms (scholarship applications including essay requirements, FAFSA forms, loan forms, and commitment contract) in the mail today and their deadline is this Friday (March 8th). I am drowning in the paperwork trying to fill out all of them to send back ASAP. In the acceptance letter, it says acceptances can be rescinded if students do not follow the protocol.

Can this school honestly give its students less than 2 days to provide tax documents, parental FAFSA documentation, and scholarship essays?

Also side note, they have an acceptance contract that has to be notarized and has the phrase "commitment to enroll in class of 2023" that is due along with the paperwork. I like this is a contract that I would be sending later after April 30th? I'll be contacting them obviously but was just curious about if these things are common?

1) these havent been common in the past
2) this year rules and procedures have changed
3) schools can set any policy they want
4) my guess the date they gave you is to get you in to first financial aid/scholarship meeting of the year, thus first crack at the pool of money
5) you cn probably be late but then some of the money will be gone by next meeting
6) so I suggest you stop wasting time on SDN and bust your butt to make their deadline

Thanks Gonnif. Will do!
