Are mixed-race individuals considered URMs for admissions purposes?

Specifically, I am mixed black/white with brown skin.

Well, they go based on what you self-identify as. So if you make it simple and just put black, then yes they will. Right, wrong or indifferent it will boost your chances.

You can list both races with which you identify. Each school will do with that what it will. I suspect that many schools will count you as URM but I don't have any stats to back up that intuition.
