So I know that the microcards and pharmcards are great, but what about the pathcards (by Lisa Marcucci)? Anybody used them? I found one review on B & N and it was good, but I wanna hear what you guys think. Robbins sucks it as far as attention span goes, so I need something quick for the ADD in me.

Don't even think about flashcards for pathology. This discipline is about understanding broad concepts and applying them to a wide variety of disease processes. You are better off learning every single disease well, rather than trying to master a bunch of silly flashcards.

I disagree. I think the flashcards are an excellent STARTING POINT to study path.

Flashcards help me in every subject to get me up to speed on the unfamiliar terms. You have to know WHAT something is before knowing WHY it is.

While you need to understand, you must obviously be able to memorize lots of stuff too.

I make my own flash cards. Yeah it's time consuming but I learn way more by doing it myself.

I make a few over the things that just aren't sticking in my head. There's no way I could find the time to make & use cards for all the info.

I get that you have to learn all of path, but the flashcards are a lot easier to carry around than Robbins (even the pocket one). The ones by BRS are a huge waste and I was wondering if the other one's by Lisa Marcucci were any good. I don't have the time to make my own, so I figured I'd shell out the $27 for the pre-made ones. Robbins is horribly boring...I read it, but I need a card with the high points to help me get stuff down and refresh my memory while reviewing. The more times I've seen something the better. It's worked for micro and pharm so far. Thanks for the info guys.
