Just curious about other people's opinions on the acceptance rate issues for pre-dec interviews. The rates in the pre-dental book generally are 40-60% for interviewees vs acceptances. But how much of a factor do you all think the post-dec interviews effect those rates? I would think that the acceptance rate would be higher in the pre-December, then all those people interviewing after December fighting for the waitlist or the few extra seats would increase the interview total to make the ratio look worse than it is. Sorry post-dec interviewers. I'm not saying they don't get in, just that maybe they are fighting for fewer seats. Any opinions?

Sounds like you already know, and answered your own question. Common sense would tell you that you are right...

your acceptance percent might be a little high..I've asked all 8 school I applied to and they all have a 1/6 accepted to interview ratio pre december

what schools are these a 1/6 chance ouch, looking at Dr. Tooth's thread on 07-08 stats, it seems that most schools accept around 50% of the interviews

Let me think....should I base the acceptance percent on the people you asked or stats? Because the statistics don't lie....I only know a handful of schools that only accept 1/6th of the people they interview. You have to consider not everyone accepted goes there too...it would be absurd for all the schools to only accept 1/6...its a waste of resources.

These stats all seem dismal...is it really true only 40-60 percent acceptance after interview? I was under the impression it was a bit higher based on Doc Toothache's stats?

More likely he was referring to post dec interviews, in which case the ratio is probably on the low side.
