Are residency coordinators generally MDs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't know... It usually doesn't say MD on the websites. Do I just call them Mr or Ms?

They are not MDs they are clerical staff that work to organize the residency. Mr. and Ms. is appropriate, as is their first name if that is how they sign their emails.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm talking about residency coordinators. Residency directors/program directors are MDs.

He's right, they are administrative personnel! At least the people you need to contact are

Some are PhD's - these are educational especialists and do less secretarial work. You might still hear from them, or wish to contact them with questions. The website or their signature should indicate they are PhD's. Otherwise, the coordinators are folks with college level education.

...or DOs.

Well the thread is in allo so I was presuming they were referring to allopathic residencies. I have never seen an allo residency run by a DO (though I'm sure it does/could happen).

One of the allopathic pediatric residencies I applied to has a DO program director (Penn State Hershey). Definitely not common, but it does happen.

pitt radiology's PD is a do

The associate PD at Metrohealth's radiology program is actually a PhD physicist. This is pretty rare though from what I've seen.
