Hi,

I was told that Thais are considered URM but I have my doubts after looking at the official definition by AAMC.

Thanks.

No they aren't considered URM even because unfortunately they are lumped together with those other Asian ethnicities that are over represented like chineese and korean.

If you're not hispanic, African American or Native American you are not a URM. You have to be one of the three, with preferably a strong enough genetic composition to claim ethnic/cultural conncetions (which is what is looked for as the plan is to have people who look like you treat you).

Either than that I dont think much more need be explained, the defnintion of URM is unnecessarily ambiguous on offical AAMC,etc site. If you ain't black, hispanic of native american, you aint URM 😀
