Hi Im a sophomore and premed (like half the kids at my school). I want to go to medical school and I already started studying for mcat. The question I have is how helpful is summer internship programs in your application? I already do research and my gps is fine.
These are the programs Im looking into:
http://www.smdep.org/progsites/basics.htm
http://www.smdep.org/progsites/duke.htm
http://www.smdep.org/progsites/columbia.htm
http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/graduateprograms/sip.cfm
https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/vssa/
Are they vital? Should I use that summer time to study for the MCAT more instead?
THanks!
EDIT: What do they teach at those summer internship programs? WIll it help my MCAT score?
