The same way that some people go through a long surgery residency so they could 1 day do some procedure that they really like, I.e. orthos might enjoy carpal tunnel and GS might enjoy appendectomy. What about radiologists? Anything that is visually satisfying?

The only thing I can think of that would meet this criteria for me is probably TIPS. I'm not saying that I would only want to do TIPS in my career, but if I absolutely had to pick ONE radiologic procedure, it would be that one.

I'm pretty sure you'd have a hard time finding many surgeons who just wanted to do appys or orthopods who just wanted to do carpal tunnels for the rest of their career. So, I wouldn't use those procedures as your point-of-reference for comparing "cool" radiologic procedures.

Do a rotation in radiology and try to spend some time in IR and observing procedures with other subspecialties. Decide for yourself if you think they're "cool" or "visually pleasing", whatever that means to you.

Based on other threads you've started in this and other forums, it seems to me like you're very focused on finding a specialty that can provide you an easy life, but where you can brag to your friends/family/strangers-you-meet-on-the-elevator about how awesome your day-to-day work is. In my experience, it is hard to find these two things together. Neurosurgeons and CT surgeons do some of the most awesome work in the medical field, but their lives are by no means easy. Dermatologists, on the other hand, do the most boring (IMO) work in the medical field, but their lives are quite easy.

Just some food for thought...

I actually really enjoy port removals. I imagine I'll sing a different tune as a senior resident or fellow, but I like the aesthetics of it and it's usually a big day for the patient. Especially if it's a younger patient or a woman who wants to forget the scar.

Yeah I am doing a radiology ration very soon. I've already seen an AAA repair and I think it is so-so.

actually I think aaa repair wasn't too bad. I want to see spleen embolization and gi embolization
