Are there any schools that interview you without having all pre-meds done?

Hello,

I am currently taking orgo I, thinking about taking orgo II this summer, and taking the August MCAt and applying right now. If I don't take orgo II, (and I haven't taken any orgo labs yet) will schools still interview me? I found out that the IL schools will, but how about any others?

Thanks,

T

AFAIK, the requirement is just that you have completed the requirements satisfactorily by the time you matriculate. So I don't think it's an issue; they just won't have that particular information on you when they're deciding who to give interviews to.

If there's a particular school that you know you're interested in, I would call the admissions office and ask.

I don't think any of them care. You just need to complete them by the time you matriculate. The MCAT will be easier if you take Orgo 2 first though, or at the same time at least.

Which schools interview you without having completed the prereqs? All of them! 👍

Schools will schedule for interviews early in the Fall (for most schools, this is the earliest that they'll do it). Since you are also taking the August MCAT, they might wait around for those scores too. You should have no problem, though I'd suggest sending them an update of your Summer Orgo II grades (especially if they are good grades, and if you can get a recommendation from your prof--even better)
