I just saw the movie "Living In Emergency." This documentary, although slightly predictable and cheesy, featured some very photogenic and interesting French and Australians doctors in exotic developing countries smoking cigarettes (but not having sex).

I would recommend this film to folks out there interested in doing high-risk development work.

Anyways, are there any DOs in the Doctors Without Borders? Moreover, do any Caribbean MDs do developmental work, or is the prospect of doing development work impossible due to the steep loans incurred?

Yes. I know, I was surprised too since DO's and Carribean MD's aren't real docs but they are somehow allowed to do absolutely everything US MD's are. Shocking

I was told by a med school advisor at MSU a few weeks ago, that currently DOs can volunteer (unpaid) with Doctors without Borders just like MDs. However, they cannot be employed (paid work) by DoB. She didn't know the reason why, but she said several of their recent grads had found that out and relayed it to her.
