I am particularly in interested in Texas schools. I know that TMDSAS does not offer fee waivers for primary app. Does Texas schools have waivers for secondaries? Also, do other AMCAS offer fee waivers? My family is in a bit of a financial difficulty right now (both parents are unemployed), so anything will help.

Thanks!

I e-mailed about 20 schools asking this until I bought a copy of the MSAR and realized it was in there. It's definitely worth the money, so go get it. All of the schools responded "yes" in any case, although none I e-mailed were Texas schools.

I am from Texas, and as far as I know TMDSAS does not offer a fee waiver. I had the AMCAS fee waiver though which helped ALOT cuz most schools do waive your secondary application fee's or at least reduces them (i think Tulane reduces it from 100 to 50 but I could be wrong..). Applying to medical school in Texas is relatively cheap. I think with secondary fee's and all included, it cost me about 250 bucks. I understand though that even 250 dollars can be a lot with financial difficulties, good luck to you...

The MSAR has all this information like someone mentioned earlier, and if you do have financial difficulty, you can apply to the Fee Assistance Program (FAP). If you qualify, you'll not only receive a reduced MCAT fee (if you haven't taken it already) but you get 14 free primary apps, you get the MSAR for free (awesome!!) and you'll most likely qualify for some reduced secondary apps too.

I remember GW refused me a fee waiver. Don't know if they still do = /
