Taking Step I tomorrow and I want to know if they are using FRED or the old software still. Anyone who's taken the test recently know?

The Kaplan (WebPrep) site said that all USMLE testing sites would be switching to the FRED format in May-June. I took my exam on June 9, and it was the FRED sys. It's pretty much the same format as QBank, except that you can highlight. As Kaplan Qbank advises, don't waste your time with the "annotate" function on FRED.

They're using FRED and it's a "STEP" backwards...the NBME CBSSA exam format is much better.
