Are upper-division science classes necessary to do well on the DAT?

Or are Gen Bio, Gen Chem, and OChem pretty much sum it up? I really dont want to force myself to learn the material during study time. I want to study what I already know.

-Last year I took Gen Chem, Pre-calc, calc 1. (for sciences)

-During the summer I took English Writing and Intro Psyc.

-This year I will be taking, Gen Bio, OChem, calc 2 (fall), and Integrated Science and Math for Elementary Teachers (spring; touching up on basic math while learning cool methods of the material). On top of academics I am President and Founder of my Pre-Dental Club and on the Varsity Water Polo & Swim Team.

Is this enough to do well on the DAT?

Well are Gen chem 1 and 2, Org chem 1 and 2 are MUST unless you know it all without taking those classes 😛

For bio Bio 1 2 3 are good help but if u have taken upper division classes like physiology, biochemistry, genetics and such. I think they help a lot to understand the material better 😀 they helped me a lot.

For maths I don't think Calculus is necessary. Cal 2 is not even recommended for dental school unless if you are math minor or something. But Algebra, pre-cal, geometry are good and i don't know what to take for word problems 😛 lol

For reading, I don't know. you just practice from kaplan, topscore and etc
same thing for PAT section plus Crack DAT PAT software.

I found that taking Cell bio, genetics, and animal physiology helped A LOT with studying for the DAT

They're not necessary. But, the broader your knowledge, the easier the test, and that goes for any test; not only the DAT.
