I submitted my application late June, but an incident caused me to not be able to submit my scores. So, technically, the schools didn't even view it. I put re-applicant on my app, but wanted to double check.

Yes, as long as you've submitted before through AADSAS you are considered a re-applicant. Some schools even still had my old application on file even without a DAT score.

Hold on...are you simply saying that you submitted your application a few weeks ago, and now you are adding your DAT scores? No that doesn't make you a re-applicant. A re-applicant is someone who applied to dental schools in a previous year. If you made a mistake, you need to fix it ASAP. Dental schools will look at your application more critically if you're marked as a re-applicant.

Also, what do you mean that you think the schools didn't view your application? If you submitted it through AADSAS, they can see your application and have an admissions file on you. You might be thinking about the fact that some schools say that they don't bother to read your application until it is complete. That's different.

Once the schools receive any part of your application, they consider you an applicant and start keeping an internal record of the materials you send them and your admissions status.

Good point - I assumed OP had meant she applied in June of last year.

Just to confirm... if I had applied to some schools but never sent them my DAT scores... I would be considered a re-applicant for the next cycle?

if so... should I send my scores now anyway if I plan to retake and reapply next cycle anyway?

SORRY FOR BUMPING THIS THREAD IF IT CAUSES CONFUSION BTW... NOT SURE IF MUCH HAS CHANGED WITHIN 2 YEARS.

Hi! Just now seeing this, sorry for the confusion. I had submitted my application and materials prior to taking my DAT.

However, a Prometric blackout caused me to void the DAT and I ended up not taking it with their voucher since Fall semester already started at school. This resulted in no DAT on file for that year. So I wasn't sure about being considered a re-applicant while applying the following year.
