I know this post should be in the lounge, but call me stupid, but I can't figure out how to access the thing. Don't see it anywhere on SDN.

Anyway, my school recently had a bright idea and moved our email system and REFUSED to further forward our email to any other email system. I like my G-mail, but this is no longer an option, since they won't forward my school email 🙁. However my school does provide access to their new system using IMAP, is there any other client that can check IMAP mail system?

The only reason that I want to do this, so that I can have something on my computer telling me that I have new mail and I can access that mail using an online interface (ie just like the G-mail notifier).

If anyone know how to do this, I would appreciate the help or else I might have to get un-lazy and start checking my mail manually every day 🙁

What do you mean by other client?

Most e-mail clients nowadays support IMAP.

What I meant is something like the G-Mail Notifier, it won't dl my email, but it will tell me that I have a new mail, so I can just go in and read it. If not I have to reopen my VB.Net book and program one, which I don't really want to.....

Most clients (Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, etc.) can access both POP3 and IMAP email. You can set your client to download POP3 mail, and then set your Gmail as a POP3 service. Leave your email on the server if you're afraid of losing it on your machine.

Thanks guys I just got DynAdvance Notifier
