Hey all---
This is a re-applicant question.
So my first MCAT wasn't that spectacular( 8PS 8BS 8VR, T- writing sample)
and I am retaking this August. My question is this: since I plan to have secondaries sent in and completed pretty much the moment I receive them (hopefully all in by mid-August) what should I do about the next MCAT score? Will they simply go over my application with the old score and make a decision, or will they wait to go over it until the August scores are released in late October?
I didn't get any interviews last year due to the lateness of my application (completed beg. of December!) but I feel like my fantastic LORs, experience for over 4 years as a nurse aide and phlebotomist in large hospital settings, great volunteering and extracurriculars, paired with an about average MCAT, should offset my meager GPA ( 3.3 overall, 2.9 science).
I should also mention that I graduated in May and so I obviously haven't had a chance to "buff up" my science GPA before applying, nor will I have time between now and the end of the cycle.
So will they go over my new application and MCAT, which is basically identical to last years' application, or will they wait and see what my new MCAT is?
Sorry about the long post, but thanks for responding, if you do!
