It takes 30 seconds to change from one patient to another patient chart in ARIA Patient Manager.

I review approximately 100 patient charts a day in Patient Manager.

That results in 50 minutes of wasted time a day.

There are 3 docs in my group, so that adds up to 150 minutes a day wasted by MD's.

Administrator says IT dept and ARIA have extensively examined the system and it is ok. ARIA said that 30 seconds is "normal".😕

Has anyone else experienced this with ARIA?

Thanks,

SB

Are you opening the patient chart by right-clicking the patient in Appointment Manager, or do you do it by typing the patient name / chart number in Patient Manager?

If you do the former, ARIA unfortunately has to load up a new instance of Patient Manager each time you do it, which takes several seconds (you'll see a progress bar).

You can save some time by keeping the Patient Manager window open all the time. Then you won't be able to right-click to open a patient chart (bummer) -- as it will still waste time as it opens a new window instance -- but if you keep one instance running, then you won't have to go through that delay each time, but you'll have to load each patient manually.

There are a number of inefficiencies in ARIA, unfortunately.

Thank you for the responses!

We all have Patient Manager running all the time, along with Time Planner. 30 seconds is the amount of time it takes Patient Manger to load the new chart from the time I click the "OPEN" (or whatever it is named) button (after I have already found the patients name in the database and highlighted it.

BTW, we have version 10, but I heard version 11 is even slower.

Well, that sucks. I feel your pain. I really do.

Are you running on a wireless internet connection? Have you tried using a plugged-in ethernet connection to see if that makes it any faster?

Brim, I checked it and was surprised to find that on my desktop (ethernet) it was 30 seconds.

BUT, on the wireless laptop it was 20 seconds!!

Totally crazy, man!
