I have a interview next monday in arizona 😴 any body else???? also any body remember the type of questions they ask??? plssss

No matter what anyone says, GavinC will tell you different. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll need it.

Well you're not supposed to talk about the questions asked during the interview at Arizona (one reason why Arizona isn't listed in the interview feedback section). Their interview isn't like your traditional Q&A between two people. It's a little more involved. But there are a few good threads around here dealing with ASDOH. Try and do a search for them. Good luck.

just start buying the NY times and start reading....you'll be setttt

jb!

any political questions????

the AZ interview scariness factor has been blown way out of proportion. They'll ask you the standard questions that you'd get anywhere else, Why dentistry, why ASDOH? Any other questions that they ask, whatever the purpose may be, are very simple provided you dont live under a rock. I got those questions all right, and for all I know they may not even play a role in my evaluation. Learn to relax and you'll be fine

p.s they will ask you for the last 5 digits of pi, its simple, just google it:laugh:

Yay! I got an ASDOH interview today. D:

A friend of mine interviewed there last year and they asked her many current event questions (like: What two hurricanes devistated the Gulf coast this season?) and tested her hand-eye coordination. She said all in all it was tough.

Tough is in the eye of the beholder. Like another poster said, it's been blown way out of proportion.

True. I had a friend who interviewed there last year and she didn't think it was that bad.

I interviewed there this year and I didn't think that it was nearly as bad as I had heard. There's wayyy too much paranoia with the ASODH interview (myself included). If you didn't do well in the interview they'll send you a rejection within a month of your interview, so at least you'll know.

I interviewed there too! The handeye test was a bit "unique"...funny seeing all of us trying so hard to race agaisnt time. I mean, it's funny now that I thought about it..but at the time it wasn't that funny.

Congrats,
I just interviewed there, and it is amazing. I fell in love with everything, curriculum, campus, facilities, tools, location, you name it and it's the best. All the students are way happy and having a great time getting the best education around. At least that's how I felt when I left there, so maybe they are just good liars and hide all the bad stuff.

The only bad things are that it's not very culturally diverse, and that they are still fairly new. Is this year going to be their first graduating class? I think it is. I would prefer a more established school, but hey, if it's the only place I get in... 🙂

For those of you who interviewed - was the accreditation issue explained? This place is my first choice, I'm scheduling my interview today.

I'm glad that so many of you have had good interview experiences here. I think that's the norm. Certainly anybody can have a poor experience anywhere, that's why interviews are important for the school and also for the applicant!

Their interview process is different. Know your current events!! Some of the questions they asked me :
What country is Perth located in?
If you were standing in this one place you are bordering 4 states called the 4 corners can you name these 4 states?
Can you name 5 countries that border Iraq?
Who is currently the secretary of state?

Hope this helps and good luck.

do they ask detail question about my research in undergrad??? how much i should know???

wouldnt you know about your own research? anywho, also be aware that the dean of ASDOH occasionally hops onto this site and looks at what people are saying about the school, so I wouldn't be surprised that any specific questions posted here are subsequently removed from their question bank

Yeah - why is AZDOH removed from the interview feedback section?? 😕

If you interview there they will explain it to you, not a big deal and accreditation is there to stay. Timing and a clerical issue is all.

They are worried about the integrity of their jeopardy questions....

Know how many soldiers have died in Iraq total.
Know 5 places in the world where oil has been found recently.
ETC....

Unless you are Ken Jennings it will feel like you wasted your time with them.
My opinion only.

Interviewed there and loved it! People are nice, interview is structured different but practical, facilities are great (everything is new), cost of living in Mesa cheap and the students looked happy. I can see myself there as a student.

Overall a great experience!

So you didn't enjoy the facilities? Those questions don't count for much, as far as I know. In other words, you can probably miss all of them and still get accepted. Your acceptance isn't based on how much trivia you know.

I think the facilities are as nice as new new or newly remodeled school in the country. I don't choose a school based on facilities alone though.

My opinion again here, Nova had eqaul facilities to ASDOH, The Nova interview sold me and the ASDOH didn't. Plain and simple.

True Case's facilites aren't as new, but they have some great technology as well. Their interview made me feel more at home also. I just didn't feel anything about going to ASDOH, I thought I would for sure, but i left not feeling it.

It is defintiely different for everybody. To each his own, different strokes for different folks.

Being an AZ native, I have toured ASDOH a couple of different times. I agree that the facilities are nice, plus I am intrigued by the osteopathic method, but I just didn't like the school overall. Like ddsmack stated, different people like different things. And personally, I happen to like cultural diversity.

Can you be more specific?
What do you mean by "cultural diversity" ? 😕

Just imagine tons of Mormons. It's not like I have anything against Mormons (or white people), I just wouldn't want to be one of maybe five minorities in my class. If you would be comfortable in a school like that, then you're set because they really do have nice facilities and a good curriculum.

On a good note, you would look crazy exotic and oober desirable! Sounds great ti me. 😛

Always optimistic, aren't we Quackers? 🙂

not really. it's just that when i was moving to america, i thought i was going to be super exotic. And then, I found out my school was like 35% Filipino and like 60% Asian or something like that. Regardless to say, I was nowhere near exotic.

Hmm, in California...yeah too many Asians for you to be exotic. But, I would rather be common over there than rare here. Haha.

You obviously didn't look around much when you were at the school. In my class of 54 students I just counted 20 minority students who represent basically every ethnic group. How much diversity do you want? Aside from racial diversity 50% of our class is female. Yes, there is about 20% Mormon students in our class but you will find that that is about normal for most dental schools. But guess what, i'll bet that 20% of our class is catholic too. Who cares! To the rest of you looking into ASDOH, form your own opinions when you come out.
