Anyone have insight here? Specifically Fayetteville/NWA?

I know the area but nothing about hospitals, AMCs vs PP, salary, types of cases, workload, etc.

Washington Regional Med Center appears to be Premier Anesthesia.

Northwest Medical stystem?

Mercy in Rogers?

Any insight appreciated. Thanks.

All I know is there is some amazing mountain biking there! Bro-in-law works for Walmart. Fun place to visit and ride!

All I know about Arkansas is that oftentimes when someone introduces you to their wife and sister, there is only one person there.
I would bet a good amount of money that northwest Arkansas is universally ranked as a better place to live compared to where you reside.

Did peds residency in Little Rock
Can't speak directly to hospital environments or the anesthesia specifics

But NWA is beautiful and is definitely a unique environment compared to other parts of the south that aren't ATL/Nashville.
The Walmart influence makes it more cosmopolitan and because there are so many transplants (Walmart requires the companies it works with to have a business office in NWA and because it's Walmart account tends to get high performers) makes it easier for outsiders to acclimate. Lots revolves around UofA in terms of social calendars/sports/music/theatre. And Crystal Bridges is a world class art museum. If you like outdoor activities, there are certainly worse spots to be in than the Ozarks. Probably the biggest downside is airport access compared to what you would find in other places. And if youre someone who likes an actual city center/downtown, then the low density growth of a bunch of towns that are roughly 50k without a real anchor city, then that might bug you.

Tricity area of NWA is closer to 600,000 people. Not sure where you're getting 50k from. I lived there for a little bit and it is an incredible area.

I meant individually Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Springdale, Bella Vista, all roughly 50k to 80k (or a little higher)...but no anchor city that really centers the orbits of the area. Everything is on relatively equal footing and so it's a large swath of lower density suburbia without a nearby true urban center. Some people don't care, others might prefer a more urban city center even if it's rarely visited simply to have the expected amenities of an area with that many people. I can't really think of any location, at least not in the South, that has a similar population and fits what I've described. I'm also familiar with a lot of Midwest/Great Plains states and can't think of anything else similar either. It's a unique situation.

I would bet an even better amount of money that it is NOT.
I have worked and lived in various places.

Everyone has different preferences. Rural, urban, suburban, beach.

My buddy is in northwest Arkansas. Not his first choice. His wife family there but it’s home now the past 6 years. He’s avid mountain biker swimmer triathlon dude. So lots of activities for him.

10 min to work each day. Job is chill. Beeper
