Aromaticity- Carbanions?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Np. But my answer wasnt entirely accurate....it can be less. For example in a Grignard it'll be sp.

Remember for Carbanion its the reverse of a Carbocation so 1>2>3. Which would make a Carbanion thats sp3 the least stable.

The reason I ask this question is because I found out cyclopentadiene with a carbanion at the top carbon is aromatic?? I understand that there are 6 pi electrons but if the top carbon is sp3, I thought that disobeys the rules of aromaticity...
