In clinic there was a case today where we had a pulm HTN with a pressure of around 100 Torr.

It wasn't from a Swanz Ganz. The attending said it was an arterial line.

I don't get what it was or where it was inserted?

Huh? You can't measure pulmonary artery pressures without a pulmonary artery catheter.

Unless he said pulmonary arterial catheter, its not possible

Well what was he talking about that could measure pulm HTN?

Kind of annoys me when the pulm. attending declares that they don't teach med students anything instead of telling me the answer esp after the resident told me it was a Swanz. I was just in clinic with them for the afternoon though.

*Swan-Ganz

There's no Swanz. Agree with the above - echo or Swan. Definitely not a peripheral art line.
