As a reapplicant, how should I approach the personal statement?

I feel like I need to make some modifications to my personal statement before I reapply this summer. For those of you who reapplied what did you say, did you acknowledge your status as a reapplicant at all? I feel like this initial rejection has been significant to me, in terms of my perspectives and feel like maybe I should touch on that. Thanks for any advise.

There's no need to talk a lot about your rejections in your personal statement. I would make a comment about it, but then move on to what you have done in this "gap year" to improve yourself. More shadowing, classes, DAT retake, interview seminars, other extracurriculars.

I agree with Rambunctious. I would probably mention it within a paragraph, but most of your personal statement should be highlighting what you've been doing in the past year to improve your application.

If you'd like, I could help you proofread your personal statement and offer suggestions 🙂
