as far as waitlists go, how are schools contacting people for giving out acceptances?

i imagine that this has already been covered, but i haven't been paying as much attention to sdn as i did in the past . . .

anyhow, i am leaving this saturday to travel a bit in south america (a month or two depending on whether i get pulled from any waitlists) and i wanted to know if schools are picking a means a contacting people and sticking with it, or if they are rather willy-nilly, ie calling some people and sending letters out to others? it would just maybe give my mother a better idea of what to look for.

so, maybe we can make this a list . . .

i am intersted in six schools specifically, but feel free to post info for any school that you want.

Some schools are calling their applicants. I am also leaving the country for about 2wks but I called the schools that I am waitlisted at and told them to contact me via email if anything. I can always check my mail overseas.
