So as the finals season approaches, we all relentlessly study to maximize our grades...

So naturally, we also need to vent out frustrations :diebanana:
A place to talk about what are professors really should have told us :slap:

Or just to bitch gripe mumble and grumble about why we hate finals +pissed+ Have at it everyone, and good luck in finals season :luck:👍

I hate the fact that I have less than a week to turn myself into an inorganic chemistry genius...yet when I get home from work+school+tutoring+research I am so dang tired that when I try to study none of it actually enters my brain. uh oh.

I'm in the process of having my first med school cram session. It scares me 🙁
definitely never assume you know something well enough to put off studying until the day before an exam in med school.

Anyone else have Professors that are so bad at writing a syllabus that it looks like a kindergarten student in another country who doesn't speak English wrote it? Yeah, I had one of those bite me in the butt this week.

I got a prompt last week to write an 8-10 page paper discussing my interpretation of a 100-word philosophical poem. Awesome poem and all, but stretching this to 8 pages is PAINFUL. I'm at 7 and it's due in 3 hours.

close reading is your friend 🙂

Finals

**** I never actually learned this ****

I look over my notes and it's just like "uhh, yeah, I know that" then I flip the page. Except I can't motivate myself to prove that I know it by working through a problem.

First university finals ever for me, so I'm a tad worried! However, I do have a nice schedule and everything planned out to make sure I get my studying done well in advance of the actual finals. And there's holidays and seeing family again to look forward to right afterwards, so yay! 🙂

I was going to put off finals studying until I finished my last few assignments including a paper and one last non-final exam. I handed in my paper 10 min ago, and just found out that that last exam is 100% take home. 😀 That's great, but I guess that means its time to start studying for finals. 😡

Going through yet another pre-testing week in med school. All I can say is:

HEAD AND NECK IS TEH SUCK!!!!!

And at this point I realize the atrocious spelling and grammar I used in creating this thread. May Merriam-Webster have mercy on my soul.

I have a final coming up next week for metabolic biochem. My only midterm was at week 4 of the class now our cumulative final is coming up, worth 60% of our grade. I need to memorize the Krebs cycle, Urea Cycle, phospho pentose shunt, glycolysis, keto-body formation, gluconeogenesis, and a bunch of other crap I will immediately forget 90% of after the test. We need to know names, structures, regulation, and every enzyme in each pathway.

I just skipped my last chem lecture. Everyone who attended got +3% on their mid-term. FML.

its okay though, I had a great time at Harveys =D
bring it oooon finals!!! except pathology, im scared of u.

I am going to the library tonight (it is Friday) 🙁 ... 3 finals next week back to back to back. I'm a senior and going to medical school next year... I wanna go out 🙁

it's not THAT bad.

though everything always seems better once you're done with it.

At my school they actually do blood and lymphoid and enzyme kinetics with head and neck.

We had a mock practical last night and the avg was about a 50%...

I hate how one my classes has 70% of its grade decided in the last two weeks, including the final. What was the point of the whole semester, then? 😕

I'm dying, so much stuff to study for, and so many last-minute assignments. It's so stressful.

I have it the worst (I THINK)... Going to the SEC Championship football game and I have to study for 2 exams on monday and then 2 finals on Friday and 2 the following Monday. O and I also have a paper and lab write up do monday...

But who cares.... GO BAMA

No complaints from me.. same teacher for two bio classes. She's one of those teachers who actually remembers her college years and understands our frustration. As a result, she gave us take home tests three weeks before finals, turned in whenever (before finals end). Totally took all the stress off everything. No final for either of my classes, so I'm golden this week 👍

having 4 Finals in 1 week, almost consecutively without any "reading days given" or "studying period". What is wrong with my school? We end class and then have the weekend and start finals Monday...ummm I'm not sure why unnecessary torture is built into the academic system?

ps. I wouldn't be complaining so much but 3 of the 4 are science exams.

I remember my first finals. There was a Fresh Prince marathon from 9pm to 5am every night. I spent my nights watching that, and my days napping while I waited for finals.

Aced every exam, thank god the classes were just the normal joke freshman crap.

Inorganic for me too. It's going to suck...like a lot.

What is it with the head and neck? I've heard these complaints over and over again from med students.

Idk maybe its a time of year sorta thing? Maybe by valentines day the med students will be cussing immunology or pathophysiology
