Hey all,

Did you know that you can join the American Student Dental Assoc (ASDA) before you are accepted as a Dental student. This is a great resource for information on dental schools and being a dental student.

I signed up for that as a pre-dent. I didn't find too much beneficial. They give you a guide to dental schools, which is pretty thorough, but I would probably end up buying the official ADEA one. You also get subscriptions to two magazines put out by mostly dental students in ASDA, and access to back issues of those publications. It's pretty cool and a nice way to get acquainted with the issues, but only if you have time to read the articles. I don't know how super it looks on your application (I'll throw it on there probably b/c I'm invovled with an actual chapter of pre-dent ASDA students, but being in the club doesn't necessarily make you an official ASDA member--you need to pay the additional dues of 50$ to be official), but I feel like I'm not really doing much with it right now. The pre-dent ASDA on campus (which is only 5$) is much more beneficial.
