I have come into a somewhat awkward situation on AADSAS. I didn't realize you couldn't delete an LOR manually, and that an evaluator would have to e-mail and ask for permission to remove the evaluation.

Here's my scenario: I currently have 3 professors that submitted, and waiting on my general dentist. I just got news that a professor from one my designated schools would write me a LOR. He is a prost at the school as well. Should I remove the General dentist and use this guy, or should I see if one of my evaluators would remove their recommendation, making space for this new evaluator?

Thanks

Your post makes it sound like your professors have already written their letters, and asking someone to remove a letter that they've already taken the time to write is a pretty big slap in the face. Also, I'm pretty sure you can only add, and not remove, a letter from AADSAS once you've submitted Assuming your general dentist hasn't written his/her letter yet, that would definitely be the way to go. But obviously don't mention the fact that you're using someone else's letter in favor of theirs. You should also check that none of the schools you're applying to require a letter from a general dentist (I know Tufts does, for example).

I think thats a huge slap in the face like atrec11992 said. If anything just email the schools and ask if you can send in that fifth letter separate from AADSAS. But damn, that's a total burn to whoever you asked to take their time and write one.

It's been taken care of. The professor was very understanding, and I'm mailing him a gift card to hopefully compensate for his time. It was definitely a very uncomfortable e-mail to write, but you have to put those feelings aside when trying for dental school.

Obviously, I'm sure it depends on the person, but he went as far to say he uses a template and just changes the name and course, so what I was receiving was a fairly generic thing. So that made me feel a little better about it.

Thanks for the replies guys
